FAQS

How do I make a reservation?
To book your dog’s stay, please email us at HeartofTexasDR@gmail.com with your requested dates and your pup’s most recent vaccination records attached. Please note: Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from us.
How do I pay, and what forms of payment are accepted?
Payment is due at the time of pick-up. We accept cash and card only. Charges will include your dog’s stay and any additional services provided.
How can I get my dog familiar with the facility before their stay?
We strongly recommend scheduling at least one day of doggy daycare. This helps your pup get comfortable with our team and the environment, making their overnight stay feel more like a return to a familiar place than a brand-new experience.
What should I pack for my dog’s stay?
We want your dog to feel right at home. You’re welcome to bring:
  • A bed or blanket/towel
  • Food, individually bagged by meal (ex: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
  • Supplements and/or Medications
  • Up to two toys per dog
  • Please leave bowls AT HOME, only slow feeders are allowed
** We're happy to refrigerate any perishable food items you bring, such as wet food, chicken, or cheese**
What does a typical day at the Ranch look like?
Dogs who can socialize will be placed in playgroups with others of similar size, energy level, and temperament. Pups that aren’t socialized still enjoy personal one-on-one playtime with a caregiver.
  • Playtime: 7:00–11:00 AM and 2:00–6:30 PM
  • Nap/lunch break: 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Evening potty break: 8:45 PM
  • Feeding times: Breakfast (7:30–8:30 AM), Dinner (4:00–5:00 PM)
What should I do when I arrive for drop-off?
Please stay in your vehicle and follow the posted signage. Send us a text message to let us know you’ve arrived, and one of our Kennel Techs will come out to greet you and your pup.
Do you accept dogs that have special needs or require extra care?
Yes, we do! Your pup may fall under our special accommodations category. Please visit the Boarding tab for more details, or feel free to email or call us directly to discuss your dog's specific needs - we're happy to help!
Why is my dog in special accommodations just for their breed? They aren't aggressive.
First & foremost, we want to clarify that we are not labeling your dog as aggressive. Some breeds simply tend to react differently in social environments, and over time, we've found it safer for everyone to handle those breeds in a more controlled way. Instead of group play, dogs on this list enjoy one-on-one time with our staff, personalized enrichment, and options like fence play where they can engage safely through a barrier. Your pup will still get plenty of love, attention, and outdoor time-just in a way that keeps everyone happy and safe.
Why is Special Accommodations more expensive?
The rate is slightly higher because dogs in this category require more individual attention. Since they don't join group play, we ensure they still get the same level of interaction, exercise, and enrichment-tailored to their needs. We don't charge extra for yard time or cuddle sessions-it's all included in the rate to ensure every dog receives the full experience, regardless of their social preferences.
