Getting ready to leave your dog at the Ranch? A little preparation goes a long way in making it a smooth, positive experience for both you and your pup.
We highly encourage scheduling a day of daycare before any overnight reservation—even if your dog has boarded elsewhere before. Spending the day with us allows your pup to adjust to our routine, meet our staff, and learn that you’ll be coming back for them. It’s a great way to reduce anxiety and build familiarity with the environment.
In our experience, dogs who skip a pre-boarding daycare visit tend to experience more stress during their first overnight stay. That’s why we recommend dropping off for daycare by 9:00 AM and picking up no earlier than 4:00 PM. This full day gives your dog time to settle in, explore the space, and—if eligible—be matched with a playgroup of new friends. For more reserved pups, it allows us to slowly help them warm up at their own pace.
